• Expand your nervous systems capacity for the life you want to live

  • As you build this capacity, you may find more room for connection, creativity, boundaries, ambition and joy.

  • Building your capacity to meet more of life, its challenges, uncertainties and possibilities with greater choice and confidence.

When you have spent years getting through the day, and living in surival life can become organised around managing stress and pressure, avoiding discomfort and keeping everything under control. There may be little room left for rest, connection, enjoyment or exploring what you actually want.

Even positive experiences can feel unfamiliar. Slowing down may bring guilt. Being seen may feel exposing. Taking an opportunity may stir up fear alongside excitement. You can want something and still find it difficult to move towards it.

This stage of The SAFER Method is about gradually building your capacity to meet more of life—its challenges, uncertainties and possibilities—with greater choice and confidence.

Grow at a pace you can work with.

Expanding your nervous system capacity begins with small, manageable experiences. That might mean allowing yourself to rest before you are exhausted, expressing a need, trying something unfamiliar or staying with a moment of enjoyment without immediately returning to your to-do list.

Together, we explore what feels manageable, what becomes overwhelming and what support helps you find your footing. You practise recognising when to stretch yourself, when to pause and when to recover, without turning growth into another demand to get everything right.

Create space for a fuller life.

As you build this capacity, you may find more room for connection, creativity, boundaries, ambition and joy. You can begin making choices that reflect what matters to you, even when some discomfort or uncertainty is present.

You do not have to feel completely fearless to move forward. You can take a meaningful step, support yourself through it and build from there.
