Emotional Freedom
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), often referred to as “tapping,” is a mind-body practice that helps reduce emotional distress by combining elements of cognitive therapy with the physical stimulation of acupuncture points. During a session, a person taps gently on specific meridian points on the face and body while focusing on a troubling emotion, thought, or memory. This process helps calm the nervous system, regulate emotions, and shift limiting beliefs.
Rooted in both traditional Chinese medicine and modern psychology, EFT works by sending calming signals to the amygdala—the brain’s fear centre—effectively lowering the stress response. It’s been used to support issues like anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, and self-sabotage. Think of it as emotional decluttering: helping you release what’s stuck, rewire the brain’s response, and build a new sense of internal safety and self-belief.
